PhD Bursary: Harmonising Core Competencies for Masters in Public Health Training for Africa

The Division of Public Health Medicine is seeking a strong candidate for this PhD bursary opportunity. This project is located under the Association of Schools of Public Health in Africa (ASPHA) which will develop a set of Core Competencies for Masters in Public Health training programmes relevant for Africa; it will pilot these against existing programmes through a multicenter collaborative descriptive study; from this it will work with member institutions to harmonise curricula using the agreed Core Competences and evaluate the outcomes of using harmonized core competences (intervention study). A doctoral student will evaluate both processes and outcomes with particular focus on the utility of graduates for health systems in Africa. Click here for more information
