The Association of Schools of Public Health in Africa (ASPHA) together with Kamuzu University of Health Sciences (Host) welcomes submissions from Schools of Public Health, other Public Health training institutions and researchers in Africa to share experiences of their work and innovations in addressing the health of the community

Main Theme: Harnessing Community Health Systems and Technology for Public Health Response

                  Sub Themes:

  • Building resilient community health systems
  • Digital technologies and information systems for disease surveillance and response, improve service delivery
  • Community engagement and collective action for health promotion and prevention
  • Addressing inequitable public health response e.g community approaches, social determinants of health
  • Community health interventions, monitoring, evaluation and learning 
  • Public health data security (Patients and health information systems)
  • Public health education and research for strengthening community health systems

Abstract Submission — Abstracts submission is open from July 28, 2025 to September 30, 2025. Authors are encouraged to engage with cross-cutting issues, such as gender and power dynamics, community participation, and the role and impact of social, political and commercial determinants of health and submit abstract to info.aspha@gmail.com.

Abstract Notification — Presenters will be notified via email of abstract status by October 13, 2025.

  • Keywords: List three to five keywords, each separated by semicolons.
  • Abstract: Narrative text (500-word limit). Tables and figures may be included, provided the abstract stays within the word limit. Avoid using jargons and acronyms.
  • Consider including the following information in the abstract, when relevant:
  • Objective, problem under investigation, hypothesis, or research goal
  • Description of research methods
  • Summary of findings
  • Statement of how the research advances public health
