The Association of Schools of Public Health in Africa (ASPHA) invites you to our 2022 Conference. This year, we wish to bring as many people as possible together to share experiences of their work and their innovations in addressing COVID-19 on the continent. The Conference will be hybrid (virtual and in-person). There would be discussions on various issues on Covid-19 especially on vaccination during Covid-19 and the tension between the notions of hesitancy and access as most countries are currently vaccinating the mass of their people. The world is a global village as we all know thus lessons learnt in one region can be used in others. Currently, almost every region is administering vaccines to help gain some herd immunity against the virus which has become very challenging. This may be as a result of several factors thus this conference will have a session to share ideas and methods that have worked in other countries so others can emulate. In addition, during the covid-19 pandemic, there were various issues on gender specifically violence against women by their partners and also issues of teenage pregnancies. This created a lot of unrest among most families thus this conference would also create an avenue for people to share the situation in their countries and how they are dealing with it or dealt with it.

The theme for the conference is “The Covid-19 pandemic: Contributions of African Schools of Public Health, lessons learned and preparedness for future pandemics” which will help us learn from each other to prepare well for future pandemics. There would be oral presentations, panel discussions and group discussions to share and discuss various innovations used to address the challenges that faced individual countries during the Covid-19 pandemic.
